I applaud and thank you all for your comments and research on this mystery insect. I will do some follow-up on what insight you are giving me. He was only there the one time, I found him repulsive and fascinating at the same time, especially that odd yellowish spot on him.
I suspected this would not be a popular photo, but wanted the comments. You have all been very generous. Thank you. |

Jim has been sent the full creature. I will ask him to post it. |

This is such a nice, gentle, serene shot. Lots of detail in both the hands and the pottery. |

Welcome Tunay! This is a lovely picture, the bird looks pretty happy with himself. I might work a bit on the lightening the white spot on the left but the white on the bird does not bother me. Very colorful. |

Personally, I think it is beyond stunning. Such detail and I love the blackness of the background. Very well done. |

I do like this photo. Nearly sent in some pinecone shots myself this month. Gets my approval. |

Six legs, Angela, the back ones being quite long. Looks like it had wings, too. I sent Jim a picture of the entire creature, as well as this close-up. |

Hi, Bob. I laughed out loud at your description, as I lived 15 years in Alaska and fully understand the mosquitoes you were mentioning. Glorious summer and they torment you constantly, forcing you back inside. So, I was impressed you could stand still long enough to get a shot at all!
The cropping to eliminate the group of people is a great idea, it focuses more on the falls. I love waterfalls or rushing water, so I can almost hear this. So loud you couldn't talk to the person beside you. Fun image for me. |

Hi, Gloria. You are getting some helpful comments and I agree with all of them. Your title of Impermanence has struck me as something I do not personally see in this shot. The fading footsteps and clouds are right, but the posts so rooted in the sand seem very permanent to me. It is a wonderful photo. |

I agree with all the comments. This is colorful, impressionistic, vibrant and so interesting. Removing the half lily pad in the upper right corner is a good idea. |

Robert, lovely image. Haku is correct in that is calming, although a tad eerie or mystical to me, as well. I like it but if I came upon this on a hike, I may well turn back. Despite the soft tones, it gives off so many vibes. |

Everyone is so different. My eye is drawn to the grayish area on the left and the shadowy, wavy reflection. The upper part of the picture comes second to me. Overall, I like it very much. |

You are correct, Dan, it's my memory of 'my' field and they are beautiful to me in any light. Haku's version is certainly more dramatic but seems very grainy to me when enlarged. I would not have ever done it that way, myself but do appreciate other's opinions. Keeps the thoughts open to many expressions.
Thank you both. |
