25 Jul 22 Reply A good place to research camera conversions is LifePixel, although there are other organizations who do these conversions. It can be complicated deciding what type of conversion. Here is a link: https://www.lifepixel.com/ Jul 29th
25 Jul 22 Reply Thanks All! Bollin, when in Photoshop, one can add a stroke to a layer (except background layer) through the use of the "Layer Style" within the Layer menu, or by selecting the "fx" symbol on the bottom of the Layers window. When I know my black or dark background images may be seen on a black screen, I add about a 3-5 pixel stroke, usually selecting a color within the image. You can see a slight pink border around my image, which I put there. Otherwise my image would have merged with the screen. I have attached a screen-shot of the Layer Style window. Jul 29th
25 Jul 22 Comment Great journalistic sequence on how dramatic weather can become. I like how the two upper images really portray the damage that can occur. The lower two images do a good job in showing the level of work needed to clear out the damage. Together, it well represents the story.

Good job on researching how to do a collage and adding strokes in PS. It is always good to challenge ourselves and learn new methods of presentation.

Although not a real issue to someone who is not a very linear thinker like myself, but there is a variation in the thickness of the border/crop on the upper right image. Really not noticeable to most, but for someone like me...I can't help it.

Again, not an issue, particularly on a good story image.

25 Jul 22 Comment I really enjoy infrared, and have a Nikon D200 converted with a 720nm filter. I agree with you about shooting during the harsh light, which is the best light to shoot infrared, and you captured it nicely.

I would also recommend pulling out the horizontal contrail, as it cuts through the upside down triangle of the blue sky. Note, you might also even darken the blue sky area, bringing out that triangle, as it would balance nicely with the dark reflection in the water.

I am torn some with the bright brush on the bottom foreground. It frames the image nicely, but for some reason I want to explore the reflections more and it detracts for me. Probably because I am a sucker for reflections! You couldn't crop it out, but being so close to the location, if you have another opportunity go to by there with a nice sky, may move forward and get the full reflection.

25 Jul 22 Comment It is a really fun image, and seems like it would do well as a short article in a publication about modern man & dog.

You did a great job of balancing panning and shutter speed to blur the background and get some movement.

It is a hard light to shoot in, but you can see the eyes in the one guy looking directly at you, so good job on balance with the shadows on his face.

25 Jul 22 Comment This young Dove doesn't look like it is ready to fly yet, so its wonderful that you could get an opportunity to have it pose for you. Normally centering the subject does not always work, but in this situation, the window to the greenery in the background is framed nicely with the part of the tree on the left. This provides a nice sense of place.

Despite tonal similarities between the Dove and the textured trees, it is nicely separated by the softness of some of the feathers and variations of contrast.

It's good that you burned down the rock, as it is quite bright, pulling the eye down a little - but as Audrey said, it does provide a nice contrast to the dark trees.
