Well Denise for me you nailed it! You may get some comments about the two orangey lines at the top of the image but they aren't a distraction for me. Using your macro lens allowed you to put the petal in front in crystal clear focus. I really like the purple vanes in the leaves. The light reflection on the black table really sets off this image. Looking again at the top of your image I think the lines maybe the bark from stems. I also like the front petal placement as it leads my eye into the photo. I think this really says what macro photography is all about. |

This is really a nice photo. The colors are great and the lighting is appealing to me. It is hard to compare the image shot with a zoom lens to those presented with a fixed lens macro shot. Again not a fan of the heavy vighette. |

Nice picture. The thorns (?) on the stem really stand out. The shot is nice with the stem coming in from the side. Would have been nice shot with a macro lens. I think I would have included some of the front of the flower to take advance of the tiny white blooms. |

This is an interesting image. The colors are great and the focus is right on the mark. I'm wondering if the shot was taken from a little more angle to the side or bottom would have brought out more of the texture in the bark. Taking the shot straight on didn't allow the light to show the texture. This is a nice looking shot but for me a little "flat". Nice job though. |

This is really nice. I think you really presented a nice soft image. The lighting is really fascinating. I couldn't figure out where your light source was located until I went back and re-read your description of how your took the photo. The lighting really makes this image for me. By using the natural light I think you are spot on illuminating the vanes in the flower and presented your flowers in a soft and appealing manner. Thanks for a very emotional image! |
