Wow! I have never seen this bird before. Looks like you nailed the focus. The eye is crystal clear and it feels like the little guy is looking right at me. Same comment that I made to Carol, not being a "macro" kind of limits my comments. Sounds like you did a lot of editing. This is a very nice result of your effort. |

What a great image! I really like bee images. We haven't had many bees this summer, don't know if the heat is keeping them away. Looking at your image I wonder if your point of focus was the foliage behind the bee. You may get sharper image of the bee focusing on the eye of the bee. It may have brought the hairs on it's back into focus. Easy enough to say sitting here in my chair than trying to get the shot while it is flying! Overall I really think you got a great picture! |

This is a very nice image. Trying to take out the white at the bottom, while improving the overall effect, may change the position of the bird and you may end up with a totally different image. I like the position of the bird here. Placing the bird to the left makes it look as if the bird is "coming" into the image. The eye is nice and sharp. I doubt if you could have gotten this shot with a Macro lens! I think the bird would have been long gone. There are other things I like about this, but not being a true "macro" image I will forgo them. I wonder if the image was darkened a little if that might bring out the color some. |
