Yes, thank you Paul. I see how I lost DOF. And I like the suggestion of flipping it. |

Nicely done, Vincent. Why, this could have been taken in Nashville. I particularly like the different textures of the door, the bricks, and the cobblestones. They do not compete, but frame her and draw attention to her. |

I really like this, Paul. The dark sky, the mist, the tones. Even the people add interest to the story. No suggestions. |

Creative idea...(I didn't think you were around back then so I was glad to learn it was toys). I would like to see more of a reflection to include his head. I think I prefer this in color because of the subtle differences in the tones. It doesn't show up as well in B&W. |

Very interesting. When I think of the Palouse, I think Green. But this doesn't need Green. It makes it in monotone. The motion blur you added, achieves a compelling effect. |

This is a wonderful street photo. It is timeless...with her outfit, it could be anywhere in the 1960's or up. It could be anywhere. Let the viewer tell the story. The Black and White adds to the intrigue. I like the dark tones in the background. In fact, my only suggestion would be to darken the postcard rack a bit. My eye goes to it and it takes emphasis off the woman. |

I have to apologize. When I went to look at your photo this evening, the green was more apparent. It must be my eyes, my screen, or a combo or both. I did try a "greener" background, but it is not as necessary as my eyes said it was this afternoon. Sorry. |

I love to photograph Dahlias. There is so much detail we can focus on. I like your choice of a wide open F stop to soften the background, but I think the focus is a little soft. I just finished going through an online Flower Photography course. When you look at your flower to photograph, the instructor said "What is it about that flower that caught your attention? That is what to focus on..."When I look at your beautiful flower, I am not sure what caught your eye. What caught my eye was the water drops on the in the center. So I cropped in and sharpened the center a bit in my version to focus on that area. But,I'm sure there are other ways to visualize this dahlia that goes with your vision. |

Oh Maria, this is so lovely. I like the position of the flower and your soft background choice. I wouldn't change anything. |

Beautiful. All of it. I particularly like the textures of the leaves and the contrast of colors. |

Congratulations on your new macro lens, Jodi. A new lens can be exciting and challenging. Take it with you everyday until you become friends. (I just did that with my lensbaby) When I look at your "Before" shot, it doesn't look like a Macro shot. You did get a close up shot, but by cropping...as Dick said, with a Macro lens, you should be able to fill the frame. Make it do its magic. I do find the leaf in the foreground a bit distracting. Looking forward to seeing your future macro shots. |

I think you have done a beautiful job of capturing this flower. I like its tilt and the tilt of the stem. The focus on the center and the front petals works with the softer focus of the back petals. I might give it a little more room on the left...it feels tight. And this is just personal preference, but I would prefer a background of a soft, more contrasty green. |
