Those expressions say it all. How would it look if you cropped in tighter, say above the Dad's hand? I know the cake would be missing, but there would be more focus on those joyful faces. I hope it's all right, but I cropped it, made a duplicate layer and blurred it, then brought out the photo with a layer mask. I also used a vignette to bring more attention to the faces. |

A dreamy and enjoyable scene. I can watch the Beach forever. For me, it doesn't need the cup. The scene by itself is joyful and unless you explain it, you wonder why the cup is there. Wonderful tones.

My eye goes to the kid hopping on his Dad's back. I can just imagine that expression of JOY. |

A Ba-by! How many times have you seen someone go gaga over seeing a baby? That's JOY. You certainly captured her cuteness. I can just picture her wiggling and bouncing. The background looks a bit plain to me. She calls for something more to compliment her personality and outfit. I used a quick background texture by 2 Little Owls with a Softlight Blend Mode..just a touch of pink. |

To me, I enjoy the colors of butterflies and of flowers. To be able to capture both is great joy. I agree the image has less distractions with the misc. stems gone. Also, the light spot on top. Then your eye can focus on the contrasting color.

Thank you, Carole. When you say "background water" do you mean the water behind him? You are right, it was busy, dry land behind him (AZ in August)so I cropped it down. Ally suggested more room at the top and I see now I could have extended the canvas a bit after I cropped it. |

Thank you, Barbara. Looking forward to being a member of the Group. This is my favorite stallion. He has a special place in my heart because of my "first time" and how he protects his Band.

I tried to follow the link but couldn't. There is quite a network of Wild Horse Photographers that share info and go out together. If you want to see more I have quite a few on my website. https://fran-yates.pixels.com/

I can see now that it does need a little more space on top. Thank you. I have been to the wild horses in Craig...the Sand Wash Basin herd. Sadly, they suffered a massive Round Up last year. If you want info, message me.

I love the "Joy" that these kids portray. Each one's expression is wonderful...joyful,happy, with a bit of smart alec that this age does so well. But my eye kept leaving them and going up. I thought that the colorful line of people behind the kids detracted from the subjects. So I tried creating a Duplicate Layer, which I blurred slightly. I created a Layer Mask and painted in the subjects, leaving only the people behind blurred. I used a vignette to further bring my eye to the Center. Now when I look at it, I focus more on those happy faces. A minor change. Not sure if you agree. |

Beautiful subtle tones. It reminds me of one on those sunsets that you think isn't going to be that great, then the sun peeks out just a bit and combined with the rays make it into a spectacular scene. I like the silhouettes for interest and perspective. |
