I like what you did here and it certainly makes a interesting image to explore. I use this particular image this month because I didn't see anything really worth retaining on it. The background was wrong for sure and trying to obscure it really only made it worse. I would certainly never consider using this image for anything other than obtaining commentary for improvement. |

I took the image into studio 2 to play with it a little bit. I applied a grunge filter to add some texture to the snow and then sharpened the otter to make them stand out a little more. Then I cropped the whole thing to get rid of some of the striking grunge and still keep the texture. This does alter the snow whiteness but I think gives it a more realistic feel. Maybe I'm wrong? |

A very colorful and sharp image for sure. I am personally not a reptile fan but I think you did an excellent job on composing this image and in the level of saturation. While the black background certainly makes the colors stand out more, I think your original background is more natural. |

A very interesting subject. My photo club did a similar project for this month with the subject "signs of the times". Tomorrow is the meeting so we'll see what ideas come forth. But I like yours because it occurs in every household. I wonder if the image would be more impactful if the sink was full of dirty dishes rather than only one pan? Great in black and white. I also agree that including the sink faucet a bit more would be helpful. |

This is a pretty scene and I have to concur with the comments on the distraction of the white fence and that deck structure in the upper right. To make it complete, I would also clone out that chair back in the lower right. I think your saturation of color really enhances the many different hues represented here. However, I think if the image was cropped just a bit on the bottom to reduce the amount of the hedge that is shown, the image would be a bit more appealing. A very nice job though. |

I have to admit that I like the color version better as well. I think it brings out the battle scars, if you will, a little bit better and gives me the feel of a tall ship. I also agree with the comments on the strong vignetting and the distraction of the item in the lower right-hand corner. |
