This reminds me of an oriental silkscreen and I love it. The noise in the background, however, the tracks a bit from the sharpness of the overall impression I get from the image. While I think you are correct in doing it in black and white, it would be interesting to see what it looked like in full color. |

I just finished a trip to Washington state and I spent a great deal of time in fishing ports and marinas. I love fishing boats because of their character and no two of them are alike. I think there's something mystical about these mariners. However, your image is just a bit too busy for me. The foreground just contains too much clutter, which detracts from the subject of the fishing boat.I think I would've moved off to the left of the right significantly. In addition, I would recommend some light enhancement to brighten up the image overall. But that's just me |

Yes, thank you for taking over. This is a very interesting portrait and what stands out to me is not only the eye contact but the skin texture and wrinkles. Very good sharpness. The background is perfect for this sort of image. |

This is a truly excellent job. You caught the sun right behind the body of the bird to eliminate any hard bright spots. Great detail on this full frame. This should be a postage stamp. Only one minor discrepancy: the bright light on the body and the right wing of the bird provides a bit of an imbalance to the left side. And there's a small dilution of sharpness. But a great job. |
