Hi Ham: You certainly set an ominous mood for this image. I think the fisherman and his small dog (cat?) were necessary to give depth to the people. I have two comments. The large item in the middle bottom of the image is bothersome to me and would be better cloned out. Also, on the left side of the image there are two leaves coming into the image and could either be cloned or cropped out. I agree that the halo needs to be removed. Otherwise, you captured the alure and danger of heading to Heceta Head. |

Hi Helen: I like the original shot better, too. I wondered if I would be the only one to say that. When it is blown up, the flow of the diagonal line to the statue takes me right to the subject. I also love the close up of the artist's rendition. The colors in the second image make me tired and it feels too boxed in where the original gives a concept of light and largeness. |

Hi Howard: This gorilla's unusual pose makes me laugh. He looks like he would easily fall over backwards. His mouth is almost one of surprise. My only comment is that it may be sharpened too much in some places. I would erase some of it up the back of the arm in the air, over the belly, and down the front leg. The sharpening shouldn't sparkle. Great capture. |

Nice close-up. Focus is on the eyes, where it should be. The right side of the face is in shadow. So, I think it is good, but a little brightening of the eye might bring more intensity. |

Hi Peter: I really like this shot; it looks like a place of fun with an interesting character. I don't have much to critique. I agree that the light and the straws could be cropped out, but if you crop out the man the border comes too close to Rick and doesn't leave him much space to look into. My eyes went right to Rick then up to the two signs and over to the liquor. I didn't really notice right away the objects that were pointed out I would limit the cropping. Nice image. |
