Thank you Michelle! This is Intentional Camera Movement. You can start out by zooming. Any lights will do. I started with a movie theater sign lit up with neon. Put your camera on a tripod, select your settings using a long shutter speed and low ISO, then move the lens either in or out. It's a lot of fun and you'll get some great effects. |

Thanks Dean! I think ICM is better with a tripod, but I didn't want to carry one. I just enjoy the fun of it. Thank you! |

Rita this is a great image isolating the loons. I like that they are sharp, that we can see their reflection and the way the light hits their backs. The only suggestion I have is to try lightening the eye (head) of the loon in front so we can see it better. It seems to be more in shadow than the back loon. |

Damon great photojournalism shot. I like that you caught the woman walking in while the congregation was standing. I still see a bit of noise in the image, but given the inside lighting, etc. it's okay. And the fact that it will be printed in a newspaper, it really doesn't matter. |

Michelle, I like this image. I would suggest that you lighten it a bit so the color and rock formation can be easily seen. You can't do it too much because of the setting sun behind the rock formation and tree. I really can't see the "glowing red color." Same for the sky. Maybe add a little purple into the blue. I've been to Sedona and it truly is a mystical place. |

Wow Dean. I like it all. First of all, the background lines and angles are great. Next come the planes that break up the background. Nice choice to edit in black and white. It really emphasizes the lines. Great shot with a cell phone! |

Thank you Rita! This was a lens zoom and camera movement image. Actually my first doing both. I'll post more as I practice. |

Thanks Damon! I really appreciate your comments. They sort of validate my joy in this type of photography. The lines coming down were the result of moving the camera up or down. I checked to see if I have one with just the zoom effect and the name readable, I don't. Handheld does have its problems. I bought the Fuji because the color was so much better than my Nikon. Didn't know specifically about the green. |
