Thanks for your input Patrick. Just so I can gain more insight, what do you mean by bouncing between? |

Isn't that the reason we post here: to learn! Take care. |

Sorry for the delay Damon. Yes, I'm interested! I've decided to prioritize 30 minutes daily for my camera. I know that's not a lot of time, but it will get me started. |

Yes, just a little less glass. Right now it looks like you're emphasizing the glass. I also like the color of the glass. |

Damon, you need to meet my photo buddy Ray. He's been trying to get me to use all the doodads in my camera and I've been trying to get him to shoot in raw! Question: Is the film simulation in camera better than I can get with LR or NIK in post? Another problem I have is forgetting to set the camera back to the settings I most use after changing them! I'm willing to learn if you're willing to take me on!! |

Great macro Rita! I had to look at it for a few moments to see the reflection and separate it from the image. The ladybug is sharp. I'm assuming that you shot through the window from underneath. That's difficult to do and come out with such a clean image. I wonder if you could have cropped it in a bit more. Well done. |

OMG Damon, now I'm hungry! I would say that you did an excellent job of meeting your customer's needs. I especially like the way you have the powdered sugar floating down to the cupcake. It adds a bit of action and makes me feel like I'm there. Well done. So well done that I need to find chocolate. |

Debbie, I understand what you were trying to do here. I do think that focusing on the girl might have been a better subject. Was she running to put her flower in the flower pot? Running to her mom? I think the story needed to show why she was running. If you eliminate her from the story, then you have the beautiful tulips which you did an excellent job photographing. So for this image, I would suggest you shoot the pot and leave the girl out. I would crop the pot so the majority of it shows. I actually like the crop in your original image. |

Great bird capture Patrick. You did a great job of handling the noise. Am I right to assume you were using a tripod? I envy photographers who have the patience to wait for the bird and can handle the heavy gear it takes to capture an image like this. |

Hi Damon. Thanks for your comments. I think I was wrong on the sunburst comment because when I looked, it already did have a sunburst.
Regarding black and white, whenever I have a chance, I'll process from color to black and white. I don't use the in camera choices because I really don't know that a certain image will look good in black and white until I get home and process it. I guess I can't imagine it while I'm shooting.
And, to be totally honest, I only use a fraction of my camera's capabilities. It might as well be a totally manual camera! I do need to get to know my camera better.
The focal length was 18 mm.
I do appreciate your comments and I learn from them.

Dean, Thank you for taking the time to work on the photo. I think adding the branches is a great idea. Now I'll have to learn how to clone in PS. I'm not sure the sunburst works because of the sun reflected in the water. I do appreciate the effort you put in to helping me. Anne |
