Thanks Damon! I'm not a creative person, but I do see the opportunity and can compose a picture. I think whatever creativity and artistry I get I come by accident. But that doesn't prevent me from playing. |

Eric, I love this image. The seal doesn't look too happy as he/she is surfing the wave. The stop action is great. I agree with Dean regarding lightening the eyes just a bit--not too much since the face is also dark. |

Damon, I'm sorry. I thought I had already replied to your comment which is great. What do you think about shooting the same building but holding the camera at a slight angle? If I ever get down that way, I might try it. I see other photographers get interesting shots by tilting the camera. Thanks again. |

Thank you Dean! I was very close to the building. I was hoping that the angle of looking up would add some interest to the composition rather that walking to the median and shooting straight at it. Only my car would have been in the way! |

Damon, I think you achieved your purpose of getting the flower sharp. I would like to have seen less space between the sharp and soft flower. They seem to be too separated for my eye. I believe there is enough bokeh background room to do that in Photoshop. (I don't know how to do that yet with the content aware tool.) I also like the water drops on the petals and leaves. Mission accomplished! |

Hi Dean. This is a lovely sunset. I like how the light from the sun shines on the pier. I'm wondering if you moved over to the right a bit, leaving more ocean on the left (but not too much) how that would look. At first, I didn't notice the lighthouse so I wonder how important it is to the image's composition. I like Damon's idea to shoot the image in HDR. Other than that, I typically meter on the sun part of the picture and then lighten the dark foreground in Lightroom. Great image! |
