Did you shoot this through the window glass? If so, great job managing the reflection. I like this picture a lot. So much detail beautifully presented. I spent a lot of time tying to decipher the markings and figure out how anyone drives through here. Once I figured it out, it actually appeared to be a relatively simple traffic flow hidden within the complex pattern. Very nice. |

Hi, Lance. My next good picture of a live oak will be my first good picture of a live oak. Such complicated and large trees that it is hard to really grab their essence, in my opinion. There is a lot to like here. Nice texture in the bark, great contrast between the limb and the leaves behind, and the background beneath the canopy is relatively clean. I hope you can find this spot again to work it some more. It looks like the resurrection ferns on top of the limbs may not have been at their fullest development this spring, so when you return that may provide additional order to the scene. I like the concept of shooting out and catching the illuminated leaves- very effective. |

When I saw that this was a one second exposure and you caught that much movement, I really helped me "get there" and feel the frame. I like that you can still see stars through the thin clouds. There is one bright spot in the upper right that is a bit elongated so I wonder if that's a jet passing through or something similar. The driftwood is helpful here to provide some interest in an otherwise empty sandy expanse. The pier is the subject, but the clouds are the wow factor for me and my eyes keep drifting up there to appreciate them. Perhaps a bit more shadow detail in the pier would help balance that a bit, but overall this image held my attention for quite some time. |

Great story. I had no idea that people did this but now I have another job to put on my "no thanks" list. Nice detail on all of the workers and sharp. I have no particular feelings on the crop- leaving in the other tower certainly shows that there is more work to do for this intrepid band. But seeing Lance's cop it looks like he also applied a bit of a vignette which darkened the sky. I like that very much- some color mixing might make the tower and the workers really pop out of the flat sky and take this to a new level. |
