Thank you, Adi. Agreed that another picture was warranted to honor the truck's surroundings as well as to provide some additional context. The truck was placed in a fairly cluttered environment and in the late evening sun I couldn't immediately find a way to do that in a pleasing way (or maybe I got lazy after I made the image I was looking for). I will keep working on my approach to photography, including always looking for more when I have a worthy subject in front of the lens. |

Thank you, Mike. I did try a version that more focused on the skull (without the entire front of the truck) but didn't like it as much- the skull became the subject and lost it's context. It wasn't until after the sun went down that the owner actually said we could move the skull- had I known that before, it would have been moved to a prominent place of honor on top of the brush guard and this picture would have been improved. Just goes to show- always ask about what you can and can't do when on a photo session. |

Thank you, Lance. This was one of those times where I was looking for a particular image before I showed up on scene and was fortunate enough to find it. I agree with others that there were probably some other images to be had of this vehicle and wish I had spent some more time trying to find them. Next time! |

Thank you, Margaret. The truck was tucked into a fairly cluttered environment. This picture does represent my intent, but I do wish that I could have found a way to get in more in context without too many distractions. The one picture I took of the entire truck (also low perspective and off the front right corner) did capture a bit of the barn behind it but I'm not sure it added as much context as a more open field or being tucked into an open garage bay would have. But thank you for the reminder to keep working the scene and looking for as many compositions as you can with a photogenic subject. |

Hi, Margaret. I agree with the others- excellent composition and great story. Have you tried experimenting with the color mixing on this photo? The overall brightness and contrast are great, but I feel like there may be some more depth that you could bring out that way, particularly by reducing the luminosity of the grasses just a touch. |

Hi, Lance. I like this picture- an incredible vista with interesting light and clouds and one I would have been proud to capture. I somewhat agree with Adi in that I think the bright river and the clearing being illuminated by the sunbeams do compete with each other a bit for attention. I'm not sure I would split it into two pictures but I would definitely try to rebalance the ratio of luminosity between the river and the clearing so one or the other becomes more clearly dominant. Given your framing, I assume the clearing would be the focal point. |

Hi, Adi. Maybe I'm the oddball here, but I got this picture right away. I love the reflection and the way you have presented it upright with the sidewalk upside down. Presenting it the other way would have been more puzzling to my eye. The way the trees are so clearly reflected even as the puddle is diminishing to wet pavement is outstanding. I like the brightness at the bottom of the photo with the dark at the top. I don't know why, but it just feels more natural to me that way. A very slight crop at the bottom to place the lower puddle right on the edge of the photo and eliminate the bright pavement that now resides at the bottom would help ground it for me. But this is just beautiful. |

Hi, Mike. I love this picture as framed. It is a timeless picture that invites a party to sit and sip a beverage as the afternoon lengthens. The only thing I might try is toning down the bright railing, bottom rail of the balustrade, and the step below the porch. Not too much- just a hair- to help keep you the frame. I like the presence of the sky in the upper right. |
