Welcome, Margaret. I love that you have captured him fully engrossed in what he is doing. Agree that more context would be interesting, but since I don't know Russell I am drawn to his face and the hand under his chin and that is enough for me in this portrait. I don't know what is behind him, but I have found that with strong window light it can be tough to bring that into the frame. More diffusion may help you do that if you choose to do so, but I love it as is. |

Hi, Lance. Great capture. I don't think I have ever seen this subject- certainly not in real life. Really appreciate the unique perspective. I love the detail and the sharpness. Thanks for a great image. |

Thank you, Debasish. I constantly waffle on how bright to make backgrounds. In this case I was trying to honor the overall bright and airy light of the day so chose to leave the background brighter than I otherwise would have. My knowledge of the setting may be preventing me from presenting the best final image- I do really like how the darker background helps draw attention to the animal. Lots to think about. |

Just outstanding. I've seen a lot of dock and sky pictures, and this is a fresh presentation. Well composed and excellently exposed. |

Hi, Mike. I can almost feel the mid-day sun and hear the crunch of the dried grass beneath your feet which contributes to the feel of abandonment. I like both the car and the buildings as subjects but they do compete a little bit for attention. Did you take any additional images of these two subjects on their own? That car is just asking for a low perspective wide angle shot right in its grill which would help reduce the presence of the buildings. I do love a ghost town picture. |

Hi, Debasish. I agree that you have a compelling subject here. The splash is very dynamic and well captured. I appreciate that you were intending to leave a little mystery, but I wonder if some color mixing would have helped you bring out the surfer just a little bit to bring us a more into his space. |

Hi, Mike. I was about 30 feet away from her, and I did not crop at all- every pixel is in there. On my crop sensor camera, the 300 mm focal length has the same angle of view as 480 mm on a full frame sensor. Thanks for the feedback. |

Thank you, Margaret. I had room around her, but I was trying to fill the frame. Probably should have widened out a bit to have options, though. Appreciate the feedback. |
