I like this. It puts me in the mind of crawling out of a tent in the early morning and staring out over the ridges. Very peaceful. |

Hi, Ally. What a precious scene. I like the interaction of the two ducklings and think I like the feather. Makes me think they are having a race and this is the turning buoy. I |

Hi, Tom. Feels like the opening to a fairy tale for sure. I love shapely live oak trees and these look like they are standing guard over the road. |

Hi, Mike. My eye went straight to the people in the center of the frame and stuck there. I did also look around the middle ground and background but kept coming back to the people. Perhaps it's just me, but I do not mind the out of focus foreground- I think that helped me get to the subjects faster and I think contributed to the mood. Agree though that perhaps in a panoramic crop that the sky and foreground might loose a little weight and not compete so much with the subjects and help them stand out a bit more. |

Hi Debasish. Great idea to try this in black and white. I like that the balloons are all very sharp and for the most part do not overlap. Nice side lighting and a very interesting subject. |

Good morning, Ally. I think my description of how the trees came to look the way they did implied a slightly different story than I intended. Now that I look at the picture again I do recognize that its's not just about the photo, but the story I choose to tell in describing it and the title that goes along with it. A truly successful image has all three working together for the maximum impact (hopefully all clearly reflecting my intent when I hit the shutter button). I will keep working on this. Thank you for the feedback. |

Good morning, Tom. Thank you for the suggestion of les foreground- I cropped it to a 16:9 and it definitely looks better.
I always struggle with titles and talking about my photography. Like in this case- I took the photo purely for the form of the trees and how it looked like they were wading ashore after a long journey or possibly a ship wreck, but the description of how the trees got to look that way seemed to capture the interest and point to a different story. Definitely something I need to continue to work on and I appreciate any pointers on how others deal with this. |
