Xiao...Dragonflies are hard to capture as they flit around so much but you captured this beautifully. The colors are nice and composition with the blurred background makes for a beautiful picture! Try bumping the ISO up to at least 1200 next time. |

Pierre...This is a lovely shot of a butterfly and flower and the composition of being attached to the purple flower. I think you captured this nicely!!! Good color and clarification.
If you ever get down to Texas, go to the Houston Museum of Natural Science Center and visit the Cockrell Butterfly Center. It was worth the trip. The butterfly center is a three story all glass dome that has waterfalls and every variety of butterfly you can imagine. Weddings are held there due to its beauty. |

I have to admit, this is an interesting subject! I checked my grocery store and it doesn't carry anything like this. Was this taken on a dark mirrored surface? I see somewhat of a reflection but can't tell if that is a mirror. The mirror would certainly add reflection enhancing the overall size of the picture. The odd shapes and colors of the rock salt make for an intriguing subject. I like your creative approach but I would also try using a mirrored base or perhaps a clear object that looks as though they are spilling out of it. Just some thoughts... |

Neal...This is a lovely shot and the colors are magnificent. Not something we would see here in Central Texas due to drought and heat. I like how you captured so many colors and the overall composition. They are vivid yet subtle. Nice job! |

Hi Charles! For some reason my notifications that someone has left a message has stopped showing up in my email. Not sure what has happened.
Anyway, I see your point of adding more contrast. When I took this picture, my photography teacher and mentor suggested I expand more on the reflection which I liked. This picture was taken on a sunny day but in a shady part of the pond so it didn't have that direct sun glare and was taken before noon which helped. |

Thank you Murphy. I am not a big flash user and I think it removes detail that I like to see. There are times when it is needed but this picture was taken on a sunny day in a shady area of the pond so I was able to capture it's true likeness. My photography teacher and mentor suggested that I highlight more of the reflection which I did. |

Thank you Pierre! The water lily was so perfectly positioned that day and my photography mentor encouraged me to expand on the reflection in the water which I did. I could spend all my time taking pictures of water lilies!! They are so delicate and beautifully created. |
