Alane...This is a great subject and has many possibilities to experiment with such as one or two toothpicks to look as though they have fallen out of the container. One thing I would try and correct is the void in the toothpicks and space them more evenly. Also tone down that white stripe on the left side. I like how you have placed it on black reflective glass with the contrast of the light and dark. The crop is a bit tight and would add more depth to the picture if there was more space surrounding it. Very creative idea you had!! |

Thank you Murphy. I tried to look back on last year's photos but I guess they have been removed for 2025. I do not recall the picture from last summer, but would love to see it sometime. They have these lilies in the floral department of the grocery store all the time and I always have to stop and admire their beauty mixed with sunflowers and whatever else is in an arrangement.
My photographer mentor has always said to "hoover the area" before taking pictures. Get the best composition angle possible by studying the subject or area. Sometimes I take a few shots to see if anything unusual comes up in the picture I had not noticed. |

Pierre...to answer your question, the three stacked photos were taken with the Nikon 18-200mm lens and the shooting range was 112mm. They were later stacked in Helicon. |

Thank you Charles. I agree with "burning" the background leaves slightly and make that adjustment quite often in other photos. |
