Oh Alane, that is gorgeous!! I can't imagine leaving that doorknob behind!! Wise decision to transport it with your move to the new home. Thank you for sharing the picture of that beautiful doorknob. |

Perhaps I did inherit the "kodaking" gene. It is certainly my passion. My poor little cousin lost her husband during the 1918 Spanish flu epidemic. They had only been married seven happy years. No children and she never remarried. At her 100th birthday party she admitted she still missed him after all those years. So sad. She moved back home with her parents until they passed away. Her younger sister divorced her abusive husband who was an attorney and moved back home as well. Her life stories were always so interesting. The role of women in today's society is certainly different than it was when Melissa was a young girl. |

Thank you so much Pierre. On my dad's side of the family, we had a cousin that was born in 1885 and lived to be 105 yrs old. I feel sure she and her family were on the grounds of the Capitol the day it was dedicated in 1888 as they did not live far from there. I was fortunate to grow up and know her in my adult years. She was such a dear and loved people. One day I asked her what couples dating would do on a date and she said they would go kodaking. At first I wasn't sure what she meant and then she told me they had a Kodak camera and would take pictures. Just some interesting historical trivia. |

Pierre...Not too many people capture a bee with a pollen sac attached to it. This is a wonderful capture! From the looks of the bee's eye, I'm glad he was more interested in flowers than focusing on you! I might add that the overall picture is a tad soft and noticed you used a teleconverter. That is a lot of power. My experience with closeups is that if I am too close to an image and the lens can't completely focus, the result is slightly soft. Also, I use Photoshop's dodge and burn tools on photos and I would have applied a small amount of burn to the flowers and greenery to reduce their brightness. The bee and sac is the focus point of the picture. You were definitely in the right place at the right time to capture a picture like this! |

Alane...this photo is a great reminder to be thankful for what we have as many people in this world don't have this much to eat. You have made a nice selection of veggies and placed them accordingly. The potato appears to have one eye that looks at you too! The only suggestion I have is perhaps burning the left side of the potato in Photoshop that has a slight glare to it to blend it in with the rest of the potato. Great still life selection! |

Charles...The intrigue of more candy and your ability to create another interesting design. The color selection is delightful and placing it in the rule of thirds position gives it more depth and adds reflection in the glass. I have never used the in-camera stack feature but it worked and you produced a nice photo. I tried to snatch a piece but with no success! |

Neal...I must say, you have ants much more attractive than we do here in Texas! How you captured the ant foraging on aphids is an accomplishment! I like the rule of thirds in the position of the photo and how the vein of the leaf splits creating an "intersection" of aphid selection for the ant. Very nice capture. |

Murphy...This is a very interesting design with tac sharp geometric features and interesting colors. The creation is a bit over my head but I like the results. You put a lot of work into creating all of this and I have to give you an A for results and composition. You too have a creative design mind. |

Murphy...so much of that artistry has been lost and no longer used to more modern designs and now AI. I agree that the artist was indeed gifted with artistic abilities. It would be interesting to know if those blueprints are still in existence. |

Thank you Charles for the nice compliment! The Texas Capitol is an interesting place to visit. I was fortunate to work there and enjoy it's grandeur. I am attaching a picture of the detail work in one of the grand staircases. It was an HDR of five images. |

The doors in the capitol building are solid oak and very heavy. It takes a doorknob like this and heavy sturdy hinges to support it. I have attached a hinge picture. |
