Priscilla...This is a nice still life with beautiful fall colors! I like the way the flowers graduate from larger to smaller in the background. I tend to like brighter backgrounds and that would add a bit more light to the orange in the flowers. The slightly brighter light would also diminish the shadows. |

Hi Pierre! I do believe this little beetle is enjoying your attention towards him! I have never tried the in camera focus stacking and hand held but looks as though it was a success. I agree with Charlie that slightly darkening the stem is a better contrast to the red and black and how he is positioned on the stem. The white stem of the leaf though, I would burn it a little so not to take the eye away from the beetle. |

Murphy...This is a lovely capture of an oriental lily...one of my favs to photograph! The colors are bright, vivid and the petals are clearly in focus. You can never go wrong with a black background!! Very nice job! |

Alane...Catticus is a lovely capture of beautiful eyes and head position. You have captured his full attention. I do tend to see some pink on his right side but it is still a lovely picture and his eyes are very striking! Nice job! |

Hi Charlie! Interesting composition with gummi bears and their colors. I like how they are positioned but may I make a few suggestions. I can see these on a mirror and a lighter background. The light is bright starting at the left and gets much darker towards the red ones which makes them blend in more with the grey. I would put one of the lighter gummi's on either end to sustain the brightness for the bears. Reflections are a fun way to structure a photo!!
Just my two cents... |

Neal...This is a lovely capture of a hummingbird! I'm surprised you had such clarity at an ISO of 800. They move pretty fast!
The catchlight in the eye is perfect!! I have a few suggestions and they are to crop tighter in the upper left corner removing more of the stem and removing the border. By removing the border, it give more space for the hummingbird in the lower right corner. The focal point is the hummingbird. Very nice capture! |

Thank you Pierre! I always like the critique from everyone as they see something that can enhance the photo. I wasn't sure what I was going to end up with but it's fun trying! |

Your concept is very appealing! The new growth though is at the base of the stem. I am including one of the stack pictures before editing. As you can see, I was working with dirt and the inside of hanging basket. The stem below is why I cropped it in tighter. |

Hi Murphy...
The green stem is 2-3' long and hangs over the side of the hanging basket and was the only one that had the new pink shoots. I cropped the green stem way down to keep it from being the main focal point. The pink color and all the tiny spines were so delicate looking. |
