63 Aug 24 Comment Charles...This capture is beautiful!! Beautiful job on the lighting and subjects. A lot of work went into the making of this picture but it was worth your time and effort. We learn by doing and as we say in Texas, ya done good!!! Aug 16th
63 Aug 24 Comment Alane...This is a lovely capture of a hydrangea! The colors are soft and I like the subtle greenery in the background. Very nice picture! Aug 16th
63 Aug 24 Comment Pierre...I am BIG on focus stacking!! I have never tried the in camera approach but use Helicon to process my pictures. The robber fly has so much detail and so perfectly blends in with both branches. You captured great detail but I would have cropped more for the fly to really stand out. I like your subject and you did a splendid job capturing it. Aug 16th
63 Aug 24 Comment Priscilla...The two varieties of sunflowers together are interesting but the larger sunflower speaks for itself with all the detail. May I suggest a solid or more subdued background as the larger sunflower has so much detail and battles all the texture in the background. Sunflowers have so many possibilities with their vibrant color. This would be lovely too on a piece of dark reflective glass. Aug 16th
63 Aug 24 Comment Neal...This is a lovely capture of the bee with the contrast of colors from the bee and the white flowers. I am in agreement with Charles on the background and I basically edited the same way he did. I combined the black and darker green to outline the beautiful bee. Very nice picture! Aug 16th
63 Aug 24 Reply Thank you Murphy! The frog was so tiny and positioned on the stem of a plant. With cropping, I was able to capture enough of the frog but still have emphasis on the eye as though he was waiting for that shot to happen. Aug 16th
63 Aug 24 Reply Thank you Priscilla! Sometimes we are at the right place and the right moment and that's what I consider for this shot. I had a 200mm macro lens and was able to capture the detail in the eye from a distance. In the camera, the extent of detail is not always visible until it's downloaded in the computer. Aug 16th
63 Aug 24 Reply I think that little frog was ready for a photo shoot! He was stabilized on the leaf of a plant so with cropping, I was able to capture this pose. He was so tiny. Aug 16th
63 Aug 24 Comment This is a lovely contrast of color and design. The butterfly is positioned well showing body and wing detail. I agree that the left side could be cropped in a little more. The picture seems a bit over processed with sharpness and my suggestion would be to soften it up slightly. It's one of those grab the camera quick shots that won't last long! Nice composition!! 63 Aug 24 Reply Thank you! I was a little overwhelmed that day with the selection of critters on display we could choose to shoot. I gravitated to the tiny frog and followed him when he perched on a plant leaf. He moved frequently and blended so well with the greenery so it was hoping for the best shot. I could see detail in his eye but never realized how much there was until I used the 200mm macro lens. Aug 8th
63 Aug 24 Reply Thank you Pierre! I had a Nikon 60mm macro lens but my instructor wanted me to take a picture with his Nikon 200mm macro lens which greatly enhanced detail in the eye. The frog was tiny so I was pleased with how much detail the macro lens allowed me to see. Aug 8th
