A lovely presentation of the Alstromeria. I am not familiar with this variety but in contrast to the dark background it makes for a beautiful picture. Adjusting with Highlights, Shadows, and Vibrance in PS will add more color contrast to the petals. |

A beautiful pristine carnation with a nice depth of field! The light seems a bit harsh on the petals but Highlights and Shadows in PS can help adjust that. Overall it is a nice picture following the rule of thirds. |

The old wooden wheel in contrast with the red flowers are lovely. For a more closeup, I would have cropped out the spokes and concentrated on the center of the wheel with the red flowers. The old weathered wood adds so much dimension to the picture in addition to the rust on the wheel. Images like this have so much potential. This image would be an excellent composite picture with a moon coming up behind it. |

The peppercorns all have a different texture and color variation. This image would be a perfect stack to capture clarity on all the edges. There are a lot of possibilities with this image such as focusing in one area and then fading the remaining part into semi darkness, etc. I am big on the 1/3 rule. You did a nice job of capturing the textures and colors in this image. |

This is a very well captured black and white image! The detail of the grasshopper and the leash around its neck is unique. The contrast of the B&W highlights the detail of the grasshopper and there is even a catch light in the eye. Nicely done! |

This is a unique little bug and one I have never seen. The texture of the leaf and his unique body parts make for an interesting composition. You captured this nicely and close enough to see transparent wings and other details of this little critter. I might suggest tighter cropping and possibly a slight rotation giving him a more diagonal effect on the leaf. |

Thank you for your comments Charles. The initial set-up is usually different from the end result or at least it is for me. I have always been a fan of dark backgrounds as I feel it adds contrast to your image. I have also found that using black velvet as a backdrop instead of foamboard works better. With velvet there is no shine from the light. The picture size I prepared for 1m turned out to be smaller and I did not realize that had happened. I will check more closely next month. |

Thank you so much Barbara. I love working with natural light and stacking an image is another fav of mine. It makes allowance for a sharper image. It's tedious but rewarding. |

Thank you for your comments Murphy. I do see that using a border would be beneficial with the dark background and will keep that in mind for future pictures. |

Thank you Priscilla! I have a foster child orchid plant that was considered hopeless by the person that gave it to me and with a little TLC, it is starting to open blooms. May see some of those in the future. |
