Thanks for the comments - I'll give the B&W idea a try. Don't know if there is enough contrast in areas away from the walkway to get a good B&W, but will try it. |

Thanks for your additional comments. I see what you referring to as soft. I checked my original image and it is sharp with the f11 camera setting. In editing the lighthouse, several adjustments were made to lighten and darken areas to get the contrast effect I wanted. Because I was bringing up the shadows of the lighthouse and darkening the sky etc. around it, I made sure one mask had a little feather to it so effects would blend. I believe that is what you see, and it is the effect I was looking for in this case. |

Really nice scene with the mountain cabin on the right, rugged mountain peaks with a little blue sky in the background, and a mid-ground of cloud/fog below the cabin. My only suggestions would be maybe warning up the cabin color a bit and toning down the white stack vapor which draws my eye first to it now. See my version. |

Interesting subject with the large trees surrounding concrete structures. Thanks for the history. To me, the image is a little flat with structures, trees and leaves tones blending into one another. Try separating the structures from the other stuff through tone and contrast adjustments. In my edited version, I have brightened structure shadows and toned down the surrounding trees and leaves via masking adjustments to highlight the subject (concrete structures. Also using ON1 software I have added a Sunshine filter to warm the scene and a Glow filter (to all but adjusted shadow areas) for added pop. Just an example of trying to bring out the subject. |

This image has a soothing color combination, and the texture filter (I presume) provides a nice non distracting background for the subject. I like the angle of the stem and the composition that's in a square crop. It fits the subject; nicely done. |

Nice fireworks image that is balanced with fireworks in center, Ferris wheel on right, and large structures on left. Thanks for providing camera settings. As an alternative edit, my version reflects cropping out the structures on the left and bringing down the top some to draw more attention to fireworks. It also includes brightening the city and Ferris wheel shadows a little for added detail. |

Your shot captures a good angle of the building. The 4, descending in size, sections of building meet, what appears to be, a wall of glass. Your angle of view gives the effect of a wall rather than another section of building with a sharp corner. I agree with Leonid that the subject needs perspective correction. When shooting buildings, I've had to learn to leave lots of room around subjects so I can enough room for proper perspective correction later in editing. |

Could you provide clarifications of what you mean by "a little soft" and need for little more "punch". Would be appreciated. |
