Thanks for your comments including suggestions to brighten and sharpen the bird's head. I tried both in editing and decided to only lighten the shadows slightly. The sharpening suggested by Judy, which I did try, did and does not look realistic and thus I did not do it. As to the lightening of the head, that side of the head was in dark shadow. Lightening a little was ok, but to the extent suggest, makes it not realistic. There was nothing in the scene that would have reflected light in that direction. The bird was partially backlit. |

Also, yes it would be nice to have a reflection, but that was not possible that windy day. |

Birds in flight are always nice to capture and finding a flock is a bonus. In looking at the image the tops of bird's wings seem blown out from reflected sunlight. I note you lowered exposure, but maybe it could have been reduced more. At ISO 100 you should have a lot to work with in a raw file. This photo is a good example of a time when multiple exposures (HDR) in burst mode could be used. You would then have a selection of exposures to choose from. It looks like a photo filter effect or Lut was used in editing which created the yellowish sky and greenish vegetation. I feel this image would look better in black and white. My example is making this a Low Key Black and White because of the high contrast. The image could also be a silhouette. |

This image shows why we should take photos at the right time of day. What makes this shot is the shadows on the walkway from the railing boards. They combined with the railing and boards themselves to create nice leading lines to the subject person. The high contrast adds to the effect. Good visual impact. As suggestions: level the image and adjust perspective (see partial roof showing). I would remove the roof as I feel its distracting and would also lighten the shadows in the background some. |

The image illustrates the contrast of nature and modern technology existing together. Your windmill shows well the negative intrusion into nature's peacefulness. As to Silver Efex Pro, I use it a lot. It is the best B&W software I have found for my images. There are several YouTube videos on this software that will get you up to speed. Basically, find a preset you like, adjust it with the sliders on the right and add control points as needed for adjusting specific areas. In this image it looks like all adjustments were global and no control points were used. The sky has the same sharp detail as the land but should not. A little added blur to the sky would be better. |

Very nice horse image. I like the crop. The soft colors provide a painterly look that is soothing to view. You said you used a swirl effect; was that using Topaz Studio 2? If you want to try something different, you might do a version of this image by applying the Topaz effects as you have but mask out the effect on the horse by 50% or more in opacity. It is something I do often with Topaz Studio 2 effects. |

Nice lighting on the main subject that has crisp detail. Good placement of main subject in upper left. I do feel the second parachutist on the right is a distraction as is the space between the two. I would suggest cropping the main subject into a square format and adding a vignette. My version shows both suggestions; a white vignette is suggested here because of the white clouds. |
