Thanks for you comments. I do think toning down the middle of the image would be less distracting. In the image I provided I was trying to show the colors of the land and could have made them less bright. |

Sorry to hear about your husband. Don't drop out- keep taking photos of what interests you. I just started using my iphone recently for a few photos. I found the edit sliders pretty easy to use - if you want to use them. |

Nice flower colors are created by the flashlight and back lighting. I do have two questions: What is the reason for not showing all of the flower? And, what software effect did you use to get the soft look? |

Sandra - Could you let me know what it was that made you want to shoot this bush - what caught your eye? I don't know what editing you did, but I put this in my iphone 12 mini and did a couple quick adjustments using the Auto, Brilliance, Shadows, Brightness and Saturation sliders in the iphone to give more contrast and more pop to the scene for impact. Its just another finished image version. |

I don't understand your question. I made the image I submitted using HDR (5 exposures). I decided not to use just one image to edit. Hope that clarifys. |

The following responds to your questions Lance. In taking my 5 exposure HDR, the first photo is a normal exposure image which is your single exposure of the scene. I did work with that but could not get the effect I wanted, expecially the mountain and sky combination. As to the eleborate workflow, I use what I think I need to get the finished photo I'm looking for. I don't do this much work on most images. For this image I wanted to focus the eye on the mountain, make it sharp and the land below less so. |

The image has impact for sure with the interesting sky and all the birds which are not blurry. This year I got to photograph a small group of cranes, but none flying. From the camera info you provided I am amazed at the sharpness of the birds in that low light, long lens and 1/320 shutter. I'm just starting out with birds in flight shots and know how hard they can be. Really like the colors in your image. |

Nice exposure to plants. I assume the yellow marks above the building's roof were on the poster already. Interesting subjects. To me, the image has two subjects with the primary being the plants. If it were possible, I'd like to see the full dome of the building if it was on the poster. I might suggest a couple of edits that could be considered. See the attached image to illustrate. But, in the end, the finished photo is what the person that took the shot wants. I'd crop in the left side to remove distractions. In ON1 Raw I added a Glow filter and a little more contrast to the building area and some glow to the plants to give the image a little more pop. |

The photo has nice impact with the white bird against the darker background with little distraction. I like the bird's pose and the way the feet are positioned. Exposure, color and detail are good. The bird is just great. It's hard to get white feathers to show up well and you did a good job there. I'm just getting into shooting birds and have a lot to learn.
Attached is a version of your photo I did to show a couple of things I might do as changes, but in the end, it's the personal preference of the photographer that counts. My version crops the left side in to more equal the margin on both left and right sides and to remove distractions. Further, I have removed the twig going out of the picture on the lower left and the twig rising up near the bird's beak; both again, to remove distractions. The last possible change was to the sharply separated bird feathers where I used the Mystical effect of Luminar AI to soften them a little.
