Hi Wanda,
I'm not sure if the raw file has any highlight detail or not, but I can revisit it to see. It was very bright midday. As for an HDR, I was backed up against a wrought iron fence and hand-holding in order to get it all in, so a tripod (if I had even had one with me) would have been very difficult to maneuver. I wouldn't want to try three shots without one, but I may go back and try this one again, since we just had nine more inches of snow... |

Thank you, Debbie. I actually dodged some of the darker areas, but I'm having some issues right now with Photoshop and browsers showing me different colors and tones. This is something new, that I haven't encountered before, and I'm having trouble tracking it down. I don't know what you're seeing on your end, but for me, saturation and brightness seem to be increasing when I post anything to the Web. It's probably in the color profile settings somewhere, I just have to find it. |

Sure, Deb, I'll be glad to do what I can, but I am not exactly an authority. I've never been to some of the best places, like the slot canyons around Page, but I'll be glad to tell you what I liked... |

Thank you for your comments Kathy, but this is a depiction of the scene as it exists, so I think I'll leave it as is.
I don't use Lightroom, as I find it redundant, over-hyped, and unreliable. Bridge and Camera Raw serve me well, and I don't need to fool with catalogs and databases, importing and exporting.
Content Aware works well for many things, but for eliminating the window, it would likely not match the bricks well and I could do a better job manually.
Maybe I'm just stuck in my ways... |
