Thank you, Margot. The store got new owners a few years ago and they are responsible for the bright colors. Yes, the power lines had to go... |

Thank you, Wanda.
For the most part, I like my images to pretty much represent what was there, but I am by not any stretch a purist. The store would not be able to operate if not for the power and phone lines, but for all anyone knows, they could all be underground. That is if anyone would ever even think about something like that.
The color first attracted me, but I try to not make an image just about the color. I hope it succeeds on another level as well... |

My wife chased a black bear out of our campsite once and into the woods. Somehow I don't think this guy would have run away!! |

Thanks for commenting Kathy.
I'm not sure how a tighter crop would benefit this image. Rather than distracting from the building, which nearly fills the frame with its overpowering colors, I think it shows just a tiny part of its environment. I did, for a time, consider removing the tower in the background, (that's the city library) but the more I looked, the more I decided I liked it there.
Again, I appreciate your thoughts. |

Well done, making great use of the semi-wide lens.
We are required to send images of less than 1mb in size, and then they magnify them 10x here to display. I imagine that this image is really stunning in full resolution. |

Interesting image, Kathy. Technically good, and a unique way of presenting this scene. I like it. |

I like the concept and composition here, Debbie, but the contrast is quite flat. A result of the early morning light I assume. |

Great shot, Deb, especially catching the eyes suspiciously checking you out. Decisive moment stuff, fur shur. My monitor is about as close to one of these as I ever want to get... |

Thank you, Deborah. I try to make my photography more or less true to life, (or at least as I experience life) and this one is pretty much just about the building. I will sometimes include some environment that I deem relevant, but this time I thought the storefront and its colors were the purpose of the image for me. |
