You have captured a wonderful moment of children being children - no devices, no reserve, just plain fun. Nice colourful image capturing a lovely time. Interesting capturing the Ukraine colours in the middle, although I suspect that was not the intention. |

Sally, I too like the crop. For me the kid in the middle jumping almost provides a line from low back to higher in the front leaving you to wonder what is higher up. That sense of mystery increases interest. The selective focus and complimentary colours emphasize the children. Nice shot |

Thanks Isaac and Bruce for the additional context and images. So many have been brought to the memorial by local photographers. Unfortunately, we may lose the privilege of photographing this site as a commercial organization decided to do a fashion shoot here. Totally disrespecting the purpose of the memorial. I find the reading materials, the drawings and even the gas oven fascinating and worth considerable thought. I have photographed in in day and in night and in winter and summer. The lines continue to draw me back.

Great photo and story. You can sense the excitement as the men wait their turn to look at the birds. Makes you want to better see what is in the basket. The use of that radial filter was great for focusing attention. The wall provides a leading line right to the birds in the crate. I really like that you cropped to the bird cage at the back, it makes you realize that this is more than just a few guys with some captive birds. Well lit both in camera and in post. |

So much nested into one photo. Juxtapositions. Urban/rural. The neat and clean dress while everything around seems in disarray. The peeling paint of the fence yet the well kept green structure in the background. What might be despair with the disarray and the hope with the ducks and chickens to bring relative wealth. Just so many stories in this image. I really like how in spite of the busy scene with bags etc. everything has been placed in symmetry. The birds and their setting just lead you into everything else, each layer presenting its own questions.I really like this photo and the crop leaves me wondering how long this goes for and how often is it repeated? |
