The artistic decision to stand to the left - a friend was standing on the right taking her shot. But now that you brought my attention to it I think I like the way it leads to the door |

A very powerful image. The wrinkled hands show a long and probably not easy life. The broken pipe shows a sense of getting by.As others have said that shallow depth of field provides razor like focus to the viewer's eyes. I think little glow in the pipe also adds life to this image. I feel this is a great photo, thanks for sharing. (As a bonus in brought back memories of my grandfather) |

Strong image that, as Gloria says, leaves the viewer to create their own story. Did officials scoop her? Did she have sturdier footwear and lose this in the change? Or was the child continuing the journey as Gloria described. The fact that it propped up in such a hostile looking environment leaves a lot to the imagination while adding power to the image |

Love the colour cohesion. The shutters, the art gallery reflections and event the reflection of a woman in a blue dress. I agree with Isaacc, the lab coat just adds an air of authority and professionalism. The reflective look (or is it troubled - leaves you curious) is perfect. Such a great shot I need to get and try a lot more shooting from the hip. |

The colours provide a vivid image by themselves but for me part of the strength is that it the group almost forms a vee drawing you to the young lady in front.I do agree that the guy with the cooler should be cropped out and can be done without breaking the symmetry of the group. Nice shot

I like the way all eyes are on dad - daughter's and animals with the little fence leading in. If the trees where darkened or desaturated a little would that help. I think the black and white helped with the background but there is a loss of continuity of the plant between man and animal that is linked by the colour. |
