23 Jul 24 Reply Thanks, Moab definitely deserves another trip! Jul 31st
23 Jul 24 Reply Thanks, the tree (the dead one on left) is what caught my eye to take the shot. Jul 28th
23 Jul 24 Reply Thanks, it's amazing what a nice sky can do to an otherwise mediocre shot. By the way the sky shot was done with a drone at 400 ft after a storm here in NJ a few weeks ago. Jul 28th
23 Jul 24 Reply Thank you. Jul 25th
23 Jul 24 Comment Santosh, great image- very creative! My personal preference would be a different crop so that the women's body is closer to the left third. Jul 23rd
23 Jul 24 Comment Nice arrangements of these red, white, and blue items. The texture of the feathers has been lost (esp red and blue); I wonder is a different lighting setup would help with that? Jul 23rd
23 Jul 24 Comment Nice image, it certainly adds to the understanding of this place from last month's image. The grouping of trees is interesting and the water in the background. Good you removed the palm tree and I would consider cropping (or clone remove) the lone palm on the right leaving just the subject group. Jul 23rd
23 Jul 24 Reply Nice! Jul 18th
23 Jul 24 Comment Hey Jill, I'm happy to see that you're working with 10X neutral density filter, there are a lot of fun things to with that glass, especially with moving water. I like the scene you've set up but I think if you increase the brightness it will look even better. Try to bring up the water highlights and the trees are little too dark. Jul 17th
23 Jul 24 Reply Thanks! Jul 17th
23 Jul 24 Comment Nice shot Marilyn, Good composition with the bucket and pieces of chalk. The lighting on the sidewalk is a bit harsh but I don't know if there is any correction possible. Jul 17th
23 Jul 24 Comment Julia, you did it again!! Introduced me to another technique and this one I really like because it is relatively easy to accomplish. I found general directions to use this technique and gave it try - I'm happy with my result.

Your original photo of the lighthouse is very good to begin with but the Adamski effect makes it more interesting. Not a hard fast rule, but I usually try to make a landscape photograph with either more sky than land/water or vice versa. But not 50/50 as it is with your shot. However, to include the lighthouse shadow and give it headroom you really need to do as you have and I like the photo a lot, Good job!

85 Jul 24 Reply Thanks Lou, you're right- the shed on lower left doesn't help the image at all. Jul 17th
85 Jul 24 Reply Thanks Pete for your comments. I realize that in some of my photos I do try to include too much and sometimes less is more. Jul 17th
85 Jul 24 Reply Yes, little ripples on the surface give a noisy appearance. Thanks. Jul 11th
85 Jul 24 Reply Thank you Alex, this is one of the nice things about the PSA DD- being able to get feedback on processing decisions. Jul 11th
85 Jul 24 Reply Thanks, when I get back down there will try a couple of other shots closer and looking in from over the water. Jul 11th
85 Jul 24 Comment This looks like a beautiful place to visit, great choice for a trip. Nice lighting on the hills and sky with good symmetry between the island and mountain. Jul 11th
85 Jul 24 Comment Very nice image, post processing very well done. The eye picks up the road at the bottom and naturally follows it around the hill, partly due the color of the road being blueish with that yellow stripe and contrasting tones of the ground. I might consider cloning out the three smaller bits of the road (left, right and above) to simplify the overall look. Jul 10th
85 Jul 24 Reply As we all have done at one time or another. Jul 10th
85 Jul 24 Comment I like this view with the rail lines, road, and lakes leading to the horizon. But the curve around the bend is not shown, I think is the curve is the most important aspect of the location. I'm hoping to make a road trip out that way this summer. Jul 10th
85 Jul 24 Comment Looks like an interesting place to fly. I would rather see more of the top of the scene rather than the area in front of the trailer, perhaps a different crop. The building roofline is not horizontal, correction by crop tool or perspective tool? Jul 9th
85 Jul 24 Comment Hey Lou, great shot, the coast of Maine offers some great opportunities for photographers. In the post processing the reflection of the sailboat looks unnatural, especially when comparing it to the original. I also agree with the comments mentioned above. Jul 8th
85 Jul 24 Comment This is another great shot, I like the soft evening tones of the trees, water, and clouds. Jul 8th
