I have found that when I view a beautiful vista such as this one, a photo rarely portrays what my eyes see. The photo does have the mountains framed by the trees on the left and to a lesser extent on the right. I have taken the liberty of playing around with the image by cropping, enhancing the sky, and various other edits. I also changed the aspect ratio to stretch the vertical. The sky would be better if the original raw file was used. |

Yes probably could get a little more pop but the other aspect is how well this animal blends in with the surroundings. |

Thank you. I actually had several shots of this cat but I chose this one because neither eye was covered by foliage, clear view of the eyes and nose. |

Hello Shirley, good image! Exposure looks good, the snow is not so bright that you lose detail and texture. Good leading lines, clouds are dramatic and the sunlight on the far shore helps give the photo good depth. |

Well done! Very delicate treatment for these beautiful flowers. Nice job with the stems - they appear to be almost transparent. I might consider cropping the flowers on the right side, I'm not sure what those flowers add to photo. |

Interest photo! What makes this shot interesting to me is the water in front of the trees. I like the shadows in the water from right to left, the intersecting tree trunk reflections and the sky reflection between the trees. The large center tree make a good focal point. The background suffers from too strong light, to bad the light wasn't just a little softer. |

For your first attempt, this is an excellent photo! Your shutter speed looks about right as the stars appear to be points rather than short arcs. And I like the rays of the light. Composition wise, the center placement works. One slight change I would do is the lighthouse has a slight lean to the right, a crop rotate would take care of that. BTW, I use a plastic 'T' square to check verticals and horizontals. |
