Group Round C/R Comment Date Image
3 May 22 Reply Hi Kieu-Hanh,

Thank you for the comments. I hadn't noticed the mask blendin ginto the barrel line - good observation. I'll try to change the color of her mask, so it stands out.

3 May 22 Comment LuAnn and Michael, I appeciate the depth that both of you gone into in reviewing my image. It's a very enlightening dialog and speaks to the high level of photographic knowledge in this group. Cheers! May 17th
3 May 22 Reply Yes, Ruth, you should check it out. Not only great murals, but great food! May 14th
3 May 22 Comment Mary Ann, firstly, you've really captured the decisive moment with the interaction between the deer. Secondly, I agree with LouAnn that the exposure initially looks too dark.Ina a competetion ajudge might be inclined to see this as underexposed rather than seeing your intent to create atmosphere. I'm curious if one of the blending modes in Photoshop could help. May 12th
3 May 22 Comment I like the way you framed this image. I think this could work equally well in a vertical orientation, cropping a little to the right of the Jefferson Memorial. Just a thought. Great image though. May 12th
3 May 22 Comment Thank you, Ruth. I agree, the model was very helpful. If you ever come to San Francisco, you should visit Balmy Lane, which has so many murals in which to stage photos. May 11th
3 May 22 Comment I like Oliver's square idea, as it helps focus the eye on the boat more.Good framing, Ruth. May 10th
3 May 22 Comment Thnak you, LouAnn. Good obeservation about the distortion - I didn't notice it. I'm wondering if the road was starting to climb, but I'n not sure. Nontheless, I think it needs to be fixed. Can you please upload your edited version? Thanks so much. May 9th
3 May 22 Comment Michael,

I like how you have a fairly tight frame to exphasize the heron, which pops out at you. The details are nice and sharp. The only thing I might add is perhaps make the background tree branches a little more out-of-focus in post, as they are just a bit busy. Maybe a mask with gausian blur.

3 May 22 Reply A square would work well, I think. May 9th
3 May 22 Comment LuAnn, you've really enhanced the tulip's color in a tasteful way. Your background succeeds in making the subject stand out and the leaf does indeed come across as the focal point. Nice job! Just a thought - perhaps crop a tad from the top of the image? May 9th
3 May 22 Reply Thanks you so much, Michael. I'm really touched by your glowing praise. It's gratifying to see that my vision had the impact.I appreciate your comments. May 7th

18 May 22 Comment Thanks, Mark. I agree that a tighter crop will work best. The lovely feline is Luna, my photogenic one-year old. Cheers. May 10th
18 May 22 Comment This is a refreshing graphical image which makes you want to drink the contents. It would make a wine bottle cover. May 10th
18 May 22 Comment Vibrant, vivacious, and vonderful, Mark! May 10th
18 May 22 Comment This image reminds me of The Fauves, which are my favorite artist group. Lots of bold, fiery colors. I enjoy the energy in this photo. I feel that it's much improved over the orginal. May 10th

18 May 22 Comment I love the magical feel of this image. I can imagine strange creatures springing out of the woods. You've achieved excellent framing. Do you recommend Topaz Studio? May 9th
18 May 22 Reply I like that suggestion and will give it a try. Thanks. May 9th
18 May 22 Comment This is a stunning image. I especially like the vibrant colors, contrast and shadows. The ripples in the water lead the eye towards the swan. The red ripple seems to speak to the swan's beak. Nice job, Mike. May 8th
18 May 22 Comment That's a great idea. I'll give it a go.I added a blening mode in Photoshop, which created the brightness around the cat. I'll try masking the backgound area and brighten it to see how it looks. Good ideas. Thanks. May 4th
