It must be fun having these models to work with - you certainly are getting the most out of them. The exposure is amazing and the contrast and tones are spot on.
I agree with the others re her facial expression - it's hard to imagine what's she's seeing/thinking, but it certainly does not take away from the photo - nicely done! |

I like the depth in the photo. You can really get a sense for the expanse of the area. I agree with one of the other comments that perhaps the brighter part of the image could be increased more. Otherwise, I don't have any comments for improvement - it's a very dramatic landscape photo. |

the more I look at it the more I see the heavenly image effect.
Very nice in any version! |

Such an interesting story and photo, Kirsti. My eyes do not stop moving. I like the composition a lot and particularly the triangular shapes between the steps - they add interest and lead you up the ladder. I was going to suggest perhaps toning down the light from the window just a bit, but the more I look at it the more I'm uncertain that it needs any adjustment.
It's nice you had the opportunity to travel to that spot!

Hi Jeff - this is a very simple and dramatic photo - I love the contrast in imagery of the tree against the plain snow and mist background. Or is it geyser mist as Kirsti questioned? I had the same thought.
Something about the arrangement caught my eye so I put it in PS and used the crop overlay (See attached). I'm not sure it improves the photo but I thought it was interesting how you can get the key points of the photo to match up to the crop overlay.
Another nice winter scene!

It's a really powerful image. Sadly, that scene is recreated all over the world. I like the inclusion of the poster of the man - he seems to bring another dimension to the indifference.
And I'm curious if you waited for the woman in the left background to be positioned between the man and the boy? Not an important aspect of the photo, but it would have been distracting if she had been only partially visible (blocked by the man or boy).
Did you also consider a B&W version?
It's certainly a photo that makes the viewer react.
Thanks for sharing it this month. |
