47 Dec 23 Comment I had fooled around with that kind of cropping.
I'll revisit it.
Thanks for your feedback.

47 Dec 23 Reply Thanks, Jeff.
I like the improvement to the child and will work to income
those changes. Much appreciated!

47 Dec 23 Comment The line of sight of the woman's eyes locked onto the man's face makes the photo so powerful. The object behind the woman is a little of a distraction so perhaps the vignette as suggested would help, but a very powerful photo. Dec 15th
47 Dec 23 Comment It's interesting how the leading lines of the photo work in reverse - the viewer just assumes things are flowing from upper right to lower left, instead of vice versa. The 3 dimensional affect has a lot to do with that. I like how you isolated the stones so as to get the placement that was needed for the abstract to work. Really interesting photo, as always.
And, another nice title!

47 Dec 23 Comment Thanks, Kirsti. Morocco is a challenging county to visit but well worth it. I'm glad the depth of field worked - I had a lot of trouble with the focusing and settings on my camera - I struggled to get this shot with the short amount of time I had for it.
Jeff, thanks for your suggestion. I'd love to see what your version looks like.
I appreciate both of your comments.

47 Dec 23 Comment This is a wonderful photo. I was instantly intrigued by the expression on the man's face - what was he so deep in thought about - before I even read your description. The placement of his head in the photo with the patterns in the background is perfect.

I do also think that the largest of the spots to the left of the man's head might not be necessary.

Just a great, spontaneous composition!

47 Dec 23 Comment I like both versions - the gold tones in the color version work well together but can see why you chose to convert to B&W. I like the contrast between the mosque dome and the stone, and I like the reinforcing pattern of over oval shapes on the right side of the gate. Maybe you can improve on the original sky.
It's a striking photo and certainly meaningful with all that is going on today. Thanks for going into your archives to share it.
