47 Jul 23 Comment Ed - thanks for your work on the photo. I do like this version a lot. I have to push myself to accept compromises in my photos - I think the original landscape was too wide angle for showing the comet in any detail.

47 Jul 23 Comment I wasn't sure at first either. But I really like the simplicity of the image and the texture you were able to pull out. Jul 19th
47 Jul 23 Comment I would not have guessed this photo was taken last year - it has a feel of a much older photo - so your goal of looking at it through the lens of time was well thought out. And I like the brighter version very much. There is a lot to think about who does or did live there. Jul 19th
47 Jul 23 Comment I agree with the crop suggestion for the bottom part of the photo - just a little crop. And I might tone down the main street lights - I find my eye going to the lights first.

A really intriguing scene and well composed. I'm amazed at how close the rail line is to the buildings.

47 Jul 23 Comment I like the contrast between the foreground and background mountains as well. I would crop the right side to where the last nub is sticking up - the lower right side of the photo doesn't have as much interest as the rest of the photo.

I also like the composition with the depth and the contrast of the mighty mountains and the fragile village below.

47 Jul 23 Comment The original has a real positive feel to it, the colors and the sun convey a bright mood and your shadow fits that as well. In the B&W photo, the mood is more mysterious and your shadow has an eerie effect. So you did a great job in the B&W conversion of changing the mood of the event. I like both versions a lot.

47 Jul 23 Comment Jeff, I love this image. The composition is splendid and your pp work obviously enhanced the end result. The leading lines of
the past take the viewer into and then out of the scene. It would also have been interesting if the man in the poncho from your previous photo had entered the scene!

I, too, was wondering about the original and if there was room to add more space to the right and crop some of the left; but regardless, terrific composition.

47 Jul 23 Comment Thanks, Jeff, for your efforts to improve the photo, I appreciate it. And thanks Kirsti for your attempts to salvage it as well. I may go back and just work on the color verion. Jul 12th
