This is a great action shot. I like the composition - there's a grouping of 3 with the onlookers in the upper left, the main subject, and the saddle stirrups flying in the air. It all makes for a dramatic shot.
Non-photographical comments: First, my back hurts just thinking of what is going to happen to that cowboy's back a second after your photo was taken, and secondly, that cowboy looks too old to be doing that!
You caught the action at the exact right moment.

Like Hercules, the photo of the tree has gotten stronger over time due to modern technology. It's wonderful that you could resurrect the original image. It looks like the middle left of the photo background blends too much into the tree trunk so maybe some way to make the trunk stand out more on that side would improve it. Otherwise, it's really a powerful image of a powerful piece of nature. |

I also like that cropped version but I like highlights in Jeff's version - the man's stripes seem to pop out very prominently. They both seem to work very well. |

I can't really find anything to say other than I think this is an excellent image. The composition adheres to the rule of thirds with the trees vertically and the top line of the bench horizontally. The bench and scene definitely convey the feeling of solitude, and the arcing tree branches bring the viewer's eyes in and around the scent. The tree is the right is perfectly shaped for the photo. A really fine image. |

I like the uncropped version. It seems there are multiple subjects in the photo: The room, the man, and the woman peering out. And the gaze of the woman in the lower left leads nicely into the photo and directly to the woman peering out.
I like the composition a lot. |

Thanks, Albert. I always struggle with the sky it seems. |

Hi Ed,
Thanks for taking the time to make this version.
I do like it. I think the easel could be a little brighter, which I will look into, and I'm still interested in cropping more off the bottom and the right side and top to make the easel stand out more. Much appreciated. |

L love the composition of the photo. Sometimes thumbnails can show a lot - in your thumbnail version I see the triangular shape of the clouds on the right side complimenting the triangular shape of the hole in the sky. It adds nice balance.
I think the edited version pops a little more but either version works for me. I love that old windmill - it stirs the imagination. Nice shot, Kirsti. |

Thanks for all of the feedback.
I'm going to look at cropping a little in the front and right side which should make the artist and his picture more prominent. I'll also adjust those highlights. |

I love the simplicity of this shot and how you kind of broke the rules by putting the one tree dead center. Silly question - are the branches parts of the foreground trees. They look to be more distant, especially in the center tree.
I also like the repetitive pattern of trees and the v-shaped branches. The vertical lines emphasize the height of the trees without the viewer actual seeing the full tree.
I find it a very interesting photo to look at.
