Hey David
What a good point, I hadn't even considered it, having seen it and taken the shot of course (it was a fly BTW).
Thanks for the reminder for next time!

Hi Morrie
Nice work, it's always apparent when someone puts some heart into an image, and this feels like one such image. Even a little intention can go a long way!
Funny how infrequent those sunsets don't align w/our expectations, isn't it ;)
Not sure if it's just a byproduct of shooting into the sun, or something you've achieved in post, but I like black, frame you've created around the lighthouse and how it's completely black.
Nothing is jumping out at me from a suggestion standpoint.
Thanks

Hi Alan
I think the simplicity of this image works well, particularly the lack of distracting elements.
It's always tough to tell with these low-resolution versions of the images we have to submit, but it looks like there's some detail there that could be celebrated further. If you have the resolution, consider cropping in a bit to remove some of the blue that isn't really contributing and give us a little more exposure and detail on the bug.
Thanks

Hi Mark
Nice capture and depending on the circumstances of this performance and your being allowed to photograph it (not sure if it was a dress rehearsal or something), I bet you were super limited in your ability to move around and get just the right angle, so nicely done.
For what it's worth, I don't mind the extra hand on the left, it lends an intimacy to the image and reminds us that these folks are working hard, shoulder-to-shoulder. Based on your before/after images, it looks like you did next to nothing in post, which is a testament to the quality of image you were able to capture to begin with.
One minorly distracting element you might consider addressing is reducing the highlights, whites, and exposure of what I think may be a French Horn in the background, center top. My eye does jump to that a bit and just reducing the brighter parts of it helps.
Thanks for sharing!

Hiya Craig
OK, I've gotta know what you did to this image to give it this feeling. It's almost like it was taken with a tilt-shift lens (which I always think makes an image look like an image of a scaled down model), but the EXIF data indicates otherwise…
It's very patriotic for Independence Day, and is a very pleasant and inviting image, kinda makes you want to be there, with those great colors and freshly mowed grass.
A few things for your consideration, it feels a few degrees rotated to the counterclockwise, and your clouds and the trim along the top of the structure are blending a bit.
Thanks

Hi Cindy
Nice catch of these two handsome specimens. They kindly lend a vibrance to the image that tells me exactly what I'm supposed to be looking at. Also, the f/5.6 was just about right to keep both of their eyes nice and sharp, while providing that nice soft bokeh in the background.
If I had to throw a suggestion out there, it would be to try and catch a version of this shot with the stick not on rear subject's head.
Thanks
Josh
