Hi David, that's great call man - good opportunity for focus stacking. Now… to just remember it at the time of shooting next time! |

Hey Alan, nice shot of the Palouse, the lighting and color feel just right. You've captured some great texture that makes your eye wander around the image nicely. I like the undulations and different color on the top right too - makes you want to see more of what didn't make it into frame.
I hesitantly throw my one consideration point out there, and perhaps because I live in Boise and went to school at U of I (about 15-miles from this image) is that all the Idahoans have taken and shown this image so many times, my brain immediately jumps to that. That being said, you can't control that, and the same could feasibly be said about any landmark I suppose, rendering my point further moot!
My overexposure aside, it's a nice image sir. |

Hi Craig, well - it's a good thing you've got it nice and sharp, through-and-through ;) It's nicely shot, in addition to the attention to keeping it sharp, you also handled the parts of the plant that invariably must fall out of frame in a shot that's this close nicely. Big and bold down low, and just the right amount of background between the top leaves and the border.
I rarely say this, but I found this image helped a little by adding a little saturation and luminance. As presented, its color isn't flat, but I think it is improved by being bumped just a bit. |

Hi Cindy. This is a pretty picture, I very much like the bright pink pedal on the top left and how well it compliments the green background.
I'm with Craig, you've teased us w/these beautiful water drops, but I want to see them in focus! One other consideration, it feels like the brightest part of the image may be on the top right, which is keeping my eye bouncing back and forth between that and the intend subject, competing for the attention from your star of the show. Not sure if this is a raw image, but if it is, I bet you can bring out some beautiful color and detail in the center of the flower, and who knows… that part may be nice and sharp!

Well thank you Craig. I went back and looked and I caught a few at f/1.2, but that's hardly the direction you were looking for ;) That said, I apparently preferred the f/8 over the f/1.2, so I guess I just should have kept on going! Thanks for the feedback sir! |
