Good evening everyone. I sure appreciate all the thoughtful feedback on my image! I tried implementing the various pieces of feedback on the original but wasn't able to come up with much that I liked any more than what Alan did (I didn't crop much to begin with so my ability to alter the composition by much was limited). I had an image in mind for this, and I find it really interesting that it wasn't interpreted by this audience in the way I had in mind (not the first time it's happened). It's a good learning experience for me though, so for that I thank you!
I think this month's image will end up being more about getting better in the future, and less about creating a more meaningful image out of this one.
Can't wait for April!

Hey Alan - sure thing! I actually meant in post, i.e. Photoshop or Lightroom, but at the time of capture may be an option too. |

Thanks for the feedback! It's definitely a balance having that bright of a spot on the image. My hope was to have the plants swaying in the breeze catch your attention and walk you back to the highlight of the sun. |

Very unique subject matter in this image. It's like we're getting a little glimpse into the day-to-day lives of the folks that live in these stilted homes. For me, to help strengthen that message, I think additional emphasis on them would be help. Possibly zooming in more on the houses or even just cropping off some of the water on the bottom and left.
I'm curious what the intent of including the chains in the image was? Perhaps they were unavoidable and had to be included. Leveling the image to the horizon line is always a good idea too.

Great impact with this image! The colors are nice and vibrant, but not too much so, and there is sharpness throughout as well. The water droplets definitely add interest as well. Not sure if you have any additional real estate to play with but I wonder what it'd look like with the rest of the red leaves present, and possibly a 1:1 ratio crop - it's such a beautiful flower.
One other point to ponder, the sharpness of the ants and flower buds down below almost compete for attention w/the flower itself. That may have been the intent, but if it's not you could try selectively softening a few of the really sharp, clear buds and ants below.

The green and the black work well for me. Adds a little mystery and malevolence which is accentuated by the black hole that disappears into nothing. It appears really sharp and clear in the rings too, and I'm not sure if you added the vignette, or it naturally occurred, but it works well. The image does seem a little under-exposed, but that could be intentional, given the mood.
I included a screenshot outlining a few cleanup suggestions that I think would eliminate distraction.

What is the story that you're trying to tell with this compilation of images? I'm guessing, which has NEVER bitten me, she's maybe running for re-election? If so, consider throw that it in my face in a more obvious way. If this is going to be a flyer, you're probably only going to get a few seconds if the viewer's time - so make sure when those few seconds are over, there's no question in their mind about what your message is.
From an image standpoint, a few things jump out at me - some of which are more a result of my anal-retentiveness and fixation on small details.
Consider keeping the distance between the images' edges and border of the image consistent. From row-to-row the distance varies, and the bottom right images is touching the edge. Remove all instances of the red background spot behind her ear. In some cases, it looks like an earring. Remove the black vertical line running into the top of her head in the other images. If there was other background, it probably wouldn't matter, but with an almost entirely neutral background and then the one spike running into the top of her head, it really distracts.

The first thing that strikes me about this image is how well the color and exposure of the subject is balanced w/the background. Additionally, they're both bright and perky feeling and balance each other out nicely. It's really easy for images like this to appear obviously from two different sources, but I don't feel like that's the case with this - the combination of the model and radio city image was handled well.
There's something about the coffee in the cup that looks a little off to me, but I can't quite put my finger on it. I like the purple and the yellow in the liquid, and how they align w/the cup itself, but something… maybe the top edge of the coffee against the cup?
The treatment to her hair looks like it's been manipulated a bit too, maybe over-softened or had something cloned out?

This image has a lot of impact for me. The strong contrast between the very bright highlights and shadows really catch my attention, and while I've seen a lot of slot canyon images, this one has a unique feel to me - which I appreciate.
The complimentary colors of the oranges and yellows with purple / magenta is appealing, but I feel like that purple color is a little strong for reality (maybe that was the intent?).
As far as reducing the highlights in the sky, it depends on what you have in the raw file. If those highlights are clipped, the information's lost and there's really nothing to recover, beyond just reducing brightness/exposure. Perhaps try exposure bracketing your shot next time and combining the images in post so that you have both shadows that are properly exposed as well as the sky.
