Hello Sheldon, this image reminds me of a surrealist painting.
Its stark whiteness contrasts superbly with vivid blues, while the dark lines define the different shapes.
The photograph has an outstanding abstract quality. |

An outstanding wildlife photograph.
It is unusual to get so close to a fox.
Being a portrait photographer, I might have increased the highlights in the eyes very slightly. Nevertheless, your image is great as it stands. |

As others have said, the silhouettes on the left add little. However, the remaining silhouettes are essential for converting this photograph from ordinary to remarkable.
It is a stunning image.

This is an imaginative narrative image. The juxtaposition of graves and daffodils tells the story of the impermanence of life.
I can see why cropping has been suggested but it would delete some of the flowers, which are so important in the photograph.
My only suggestion is to increase slightly the visibility of the distant pathway. |

Hi Robert, thank you.
You have certainly created a bleak look.
My problem with editing is whether to retain the original look of an image or use Photoshop to create a very different look.
This 'conflict' probably arises from having spent the last decade specialising in portrait and art nude photography where minimal editing is required.

Hi Bob,
I prefer the B&W image because it captures the starkness of the whole scene.
The falls lead ones eyes upward to the mountain distant mountain, which adds narrative to the photo.
In line with earlier comments, I also think increasing the contrast adds sharpness to an already good image. |

Hi Cheryl,
The photo certainly gives a sense of isolation.
I like the balance between the buildings on the right and trees on the left. However, by removing them, the feeling of isolation might be enhanced.
The predominantly ice-blue shades of the shrouded mountain, sky and lake convey a barrenness that is both beautiful and slightly frightening.
I think the photo is very good.

Hello Haru, to begin with, I love the photograph. It captures the affinity that Japanese people have with nature.
My preference is for the original image. The waterfall set within superb greenery, stands alone, inviting the viewers contemplation. I do not think the addition of swirls is needed. |

Hi Robert, this photo is an amazing juxtaposition of fire and water. It captures the power and clash of two great forces of nature, which I guess was exactly your intention.
In view of the potential danger of volcanic activity, I was wondering how close you were to it. |
