I would call this a Peoplescape or a Dogscape depending on who you think the stars of the photo are! Photographing people is hard to do and I agree you captured an interesting moment here. You must have had your camera ready to go.
The post processing has really helped make the picture more interesting with the cropping and color enhancement. |

Cool capture of an amazing place. The symmetry of the reflections in the water adds to the picture - you probably spent some time making sure they were properly aligned. Including the people in the picture gives a real sense of the size of the engineering feat that was created so long ago.
The iPhone is often the best camera as it is the one we have with us!

I like the composition here, Jay. The way the rocks are offset to the lower RH corner invites the waves on to them. Excellent, subtle colors with the orange and blues. With regard to your concept of rising above challenges we need to consider the time horizon involved. One day the waves will have eroded the rocks. |

Having never seen the Aurora I am amazed at how bright it is. It must be incredible to watch as it moves around. This is a great picture, Darcy. The stars, clouds and Aurora are perfectly balanced. |

I had never heard of the Palouse. It looks spectacular from your picture, Dawn. I really like the meandering path and the way the lines in the flowers follow its general shape. It makes me wonder who walks along this path and where are they going? The pinkish hue of the sky adds mystery. |
