Ed, you are getting great pictures from Oregon. The composition here is really interesting with the rock formations like petrified churches and the meander of the river that cuts through the image.
The original needed a lot of work and yet the image looks natural. |

The black and white treatment looks great in this picture. Lots of details, strong contrast and no apparent grain (things that are sometimes missing in B&W pics) give a high image quality that rewards study.
I like that people are included, it gives scale and, more interestingly, suggests some back story (is the guy on the bridge tailing the guy going through the door? Very James Bond!). |

This is at once great to look at and hard to understand. I see a number of stars (not just one) and the night sky is surprisingly dark given the light from the buildings. It would be interesting to learn about the story behind this picture.

Great picture, Dawn. The 2 exposures balance so naturally, even the sky's reflections look like one exposure.
The structures in the ice work with the angular mountains in a kind of fractal development.

Beautiful location. So many colors and shades from nature.
I can't figure out where the light is coming from. Did you use off camera flash? |
