Great shot of a difficult subject (birds). I like the post treatment given as we get to see the starfish etc. I like that you cropped the picture to move the seagull off center - this gives the bird movement to the right of the frame which supports the activity implied in the foraging title. It is a good crisp picture especially given a 300mm focal length. |

The technical competence required to produce this picture is staggering! From the idea of the capture (84 shots from a moving speedboat!) to the shutter speed (1/4000th!) to the PS knowledge and computer processing power required to edit the image. I am in awe. The end result is a spectacular picture. Congratulations on such a great result. It would be interesting to see the color version of this. |

This is an otherworldly picture. The edge of the bright sun over the dark landscape makes an evocative image. The contrast between the fiery color of the sun and the dark valleys and rock formations makes you wonder who inhabited this land and how did they survive. If you listen carefully while looking at the picture you can hear a didgeridoo playing.
The work you did to the original was absolutely worth it and I wonder how you knew the original would repay the investment in time so spectacularly. |

Dawn, this is an amazing picture. The original is just stunning and must be very rewarding for you after the hike you had to make to take it. The composition is a great balance of physical features (eg the rock) and broad swathes of color. The smoothness of the water adds an ephemeral quality.
I am adding NZ to the bucket list! |

This is an interesting moment captured nicely. Paul, your street photography is excellent. You have a great eye for the moment (and the courage to snap it!). I am looking forward to more fascinating shots when you get back from your next trip! |
