Excellent picture, Paul. Very evocative of bygone days. The B&W rendering adds to the timelessness. Looking forward to your coffee table book of all the barn pictures - it will be a collectors item. |

Interesting shot and interesting to learn about this religion/cult. You have captured an emotional reaction of the lost community. This is partly about the dilapidated building and also the mostly empty background.
I agree that the B&W treatment is more effective than the muted colors of the original. Overall the picture has a softness to it. Maybe a little camera movement? |

This is a clever picture - and it's funny.
I wonder if the picture could have been taken lower down to bring in more of the lake. Also maybe a little more detail on the back of the bench could have been brought out? |

This looks like a an excellent picture technically with a huge depth of focus and a skillful exposure. Compositionally it is thought provoking with the lone tree in the lake surrounded by these titanic mountains. One can identify with the loneliness of the tree in an environment that is unusual or even hostile.
I am guessing this is a famous tree given it has a name? |

Merry Christmas and Happy Nw Year to you too, Jeffrey.
This is a great picture. The suns rays are clearly the star of the show however I really like the way the tree tops are reflecting some light up. Overall this is a strong composition with immediate foreground and the receding ridge lines creating a lot of interest.
Did you use a tripod? |
