This is a clever composition. The ferry is the star but the Space Needle and Cascades play strong supporting roles. The broad outline of the Cascades and of the Ferry seem to echo each other. I wonder if that adds to the strong sense of balance the picture has?
The 100-500 lens takes great pictures - I am tempted to get one!
I agree with Paul, Seattle should buy this from you to use in its marketing. |

I really like these pictures with layers to them. The lake with the geese, the wooded area with houses, the foothills and the mountains. So many options to fill the day!
The colors are very interesting also. Each band of interest appears to have its own palate. Something about the warm colors reminds me of film.
Great shot, Paul! |

The subtle colors in this picture are very engaging and give interest to the flora and the rocks. It is hard to judge the scale of the falls. The shutter speed gives just enough motion to the falling water to make it seem these falls are large.
I prefer the original simply because it looks like a huge, dramatic, sequence of falls. Your explanation of wanting to make a picture of the 'falls less photographed' makes sense and you are to be commended for taking the difficult route to a great picture. |

This is an intriguing shot. The post processing has definitely added interest to the art in the foreground. The sky maybe competing with the foreground some but I do not find it significant. |

Very engaging picture with details on multiple depths throughout. Looks like a tremendous DoF. The B&W treatment gives it a timeless quality, only the jet plane puts it in the current era. |

This is a great image. Did you stake out this location or was it a grab shot? Either way it is very effective and you have enhancements from the original that make it more engaging. What do you think she is looking at? It seems her eyes are too far to her right to be looking at the camera? It is intriguing. |
