Ed, this is a great picture of a classic bridge. I like the subtle colors - they convey the mood of the place and make it timeless. I like the way the focus softens as the bridge recedes onto the far bank.
Did you try increasing the greens a little to make the center section of the bridge the focal point of the picture? |

Mark, This captures a mood of contemplation for sure. Somewhere to sit and think about what is important in life. Looking at it as an image (vs a setting), I am struck by the many textures. The 'hyper reality' of the rock on the left, the detailed pebble beach, the soft water, the debris pile with its greenish hue, the clouds, the mist over the water, the indistinct rocks in the distance and the cliff face itself all have their own textures that create a satisfying collage. |

Darcy, I wonder if it would help with the mystery if the original were cropped to put the window high to the right. Like a Hitchcock movie (EG the top window in the Bates Motel!). Maybe make the overall image more lo-fi with reduced clarity, flatter color and some added grain? |

Dawn, this is an astonishing picture. You have captured the scale and grandeur of the location and managed color and contrast etc in ways that make the image spectacular and credible. It is inspiring on multiple levels.

Kelly this is a great photo! I really like the way the umbrella pops against the clouds and sky. You should ask the Edisto Island Tourist Board if they want to buy it, or Shutterstock.
Technically it looks great. I agree with Kelly about the pole being distracting but it was there IRL so it belongs. |
