Hi Kelly, thanks for the kind comments. I use 2 different monitors and neither is calibrated so there probably is a color error. I usually look at the whites and if they look white enough I call it good! I should get more objective. |

Hi Ed, It is definitely worth a visit and staying a couple of days at the campsite if you like. The hiking is great and there is a nice lake (Lake Briton) not too far away. Thanks for the kind comments. |

Thanks Dawn. I took lots of pictures of the falls from all over the area so I can't honestly say where this one was actually taken from. There were not many people there and the campground was less than half full. It was a great time to visit as the nights were clear and vey dark - lots of stars to be seen from under the pines. |

Thanks Paul. This was hand held. I googled Hanging Lake and you're right it is very similar. |

Ed, this is a great shot of a fun event in small town America. I agree with Paul that the red is oversaturated however it lends the trike in the foreground a kind of 'airbrushed' appearance that makes the picture more interesting.
I just got back from a vintage motorcycle rally in Washington State. It would have been great had you been there to photograph the event! |

Paul, great shot of people being themselves. I find this kind of shot hard to take (I imagine having to explain to the subjects why I am taking a picture of them!).
There is a whole story of life and community here. FWIW I like the street sign you left in. It sets the otherwise timeless picture in recent times. A temporal context. |

Dawn, this image looks like a dream scape. Gentle curves and colors and no sense of scale provide the opportunity for the observer to make pretty much whatever they want of it. Very relaxing!
Your post processing transformed the original into a great image. |

Kelly, great shot of the Ibis. The Fuji cameras have a distinctive color signature that works great with all the green in your picture. The white of the Ibis pops against the green and blue eye looks great against the white.
The Ibis is very sharp on my screen, something that is hard to convey in the small file size allowed.
I wonder if a crop with the Ibis to the left of center and maybe a little tighter on the Ibis would look good.

Mark,
The challenge of conveying the sheer scale and splendor of nature in a photograph is huge and I think you have been very successful here. The 'original 2' picture doesn't capture it - your imaginative/daring crop (I would never have thought to crop out the top of a waterfall!) creates an image that has great impact.
By way of constructive criticism I think the rocks (especially on the RH lower corner) are a little too visually prominent. Also the water fall itself looks soft (not surprising given the shutter speed etc).
