Nice picture and a great job of capturing the partially lit ferns in the foreground and the light behind the trees clearly. I would guess the dynamic range was big making it a challenge to capture this scene as it appeared. |

This is a great picture that is appealing as an image as well as an insight into how the people settlers lived. The composition is strong and the B&W gives it a timeless quality.
Do you shoot in B&W or convert in post? |

I like this shot. It is a nice composition with just enough post to make it more interesting. The original picture is probably the kind of picture I would have taken (I say probably because I don't know if I would have been up a mountain in the bitter cold!) and would never have thought to make it into something interesting with the thoughtful crop. I am learning a lot from the many ways Mark takes a good picture and turns it into something special. |

I like this shot. It is hard to capture the visual impact of many geographical features. You have succeeded with this picture.
The contrast between the mechanical lines of the road and the natural lines of the stream and waterfall are interesting to me. For this reason I would have left the street sign in as a marker of the banality of the built environment. |

This is a great picture. It grabs your attention at the first glance and takes you there to the moment. The lighting on the rock, the texture of the sea water and the lone figure contemplating the beauty before him.
Technically it is excellent also. It is interesting to note that the surfer stood still while the long exposure happened. I agree with Ed that this is a contest winner. It is a picture to be proud of. |
