48 Jul 22 Reply Thanks Jamie, the two photos are the same plane two of the sequence. Jul 11th
48 Jul 22 Comment Thanks for the praise Tom. You'll be seeing another aircraft photo in October I'm going to the US Marine Corp Airshow in Miramar, CA on September 24th. The Blue Angles will be performing. I shot this one at 1/400s. This was my first Airshow with my Canon R5 and went back and looked and I did all my shots at 1/400 second. I don't think Power to Weight Ratio for Pitts will allow a stall. I added the next shot in the sequence and you can see the recovery. Those cuts in the smoke are natural I'm not sure if the wings did it or they are shadows. Jul 10th
48 Jul 22 Reply I have a long exposure calculator on my phone. Yes you need a tripod. Jul 6th
48 Jul 22 Reply I sure there have been accidents but they are far and few between. Just like any action sport there are risks. Jul 6th
48 Jul 22 Comment When I start a photo in Lightroom the first thing I do is the Tones: Highlights, Shadows, Whites, and Blacks. Then I do noise reduction. Next I do Basics: Clarity, Contrast, Dehaze, and Texture and after that I Sharpen it. You can do the same in Camera Raw in Photoshop except the denoise and sharpen. Jul 6th
48 Jul 22 Comment The static elements are wonderful. The people not so much. When I photograph static aircraft I like to have a 10ND or more filter with me. Most people moving won't be there unless they stay longer than the exposure. You may have some ghosts that can be removed in post. Jul 6th
48 Jul 22 Comment This shot has a a menacing or threatening aspect, foreshadowing of evil or disaster its a kind of film noir scene. One thing I would have done is make ir monochrome. Jul 6th
48 Jul 22 Comment These reenactors have make an effort to appearing authentic. So many are what are known as "Farbs" reenactors who spend relatively little of their time or money maintaining authenticity. Your portraits are clear and sharp. Good job.
