I agree with Brian and I would add that some rain should appear in the umbrella as well in front of the lady; but then it would my creation, not Joan. |

Thanks to all......
I am impressed by how many members visit other groups. I guess I am going to start doing it too and see others great work.
Oh well, I will have to cut back in eating time. |

I would love to share in how I do these things. I have a zoom account for various reasons other than the 2 clubs I belong to.
But I have been looking for a clock with 26 1/2 hours.
I tried Macys, Amazon and Sears. No luck. Anybody have any?
I am planning some kind of get together in a Zoom; like once a month type. Total informal.
Again time plus I suffer from a bad case of 'Mañana Syndrome'
that are my biggest obstacles. I will keep you guys posted(including those out of the group) |

I have to agree with Peter. Any changes or alteration to an image can qualify as 'creative'. In this case, the texture to eliminate the background is very good. It does show change and alteration. On the other hand recall my image of the sand castle or yours of the landscape, yes they were manipulated, but the result did not show it. So the definition of this group in this submission for this image was met. I hear there is new type of competition type: "Interpretive". In does fill the gap between "Regular Digital" and "Creative" |

I see that this creation is very original. The quality of the image is very well defined. Again placing the heads could have few choices. This image shows a disciplined order. I have found that accuracy in positioning like hanging picture in the wall is usually not too perfect. So what Do I do? I set them in a pattern that is not perfect aligned intentionally. So in this case, placing the statue on the left and the heads to the right in any arbitrary position, could have change the disciplinary pattern. But then is my creation, not Skip |

That is a new take in fireworks. Very creative and the details are very good. No improvements to the concept.
In my opinion the only detail I would have done is to remove those little lines into the image starting from the upper border, or at least some of them.
I think that would emphasize the concept of the image and will give it a clear look plus will not distract and not change the creation. |

Good points. I will address the issue of taking the image for yourself or for judges.
Speaking for my self most of my photography is to compete in my club. The reason is that I did run out of space in my walls.
And I going on the limb here to say that most of us are taking images to compete. So probably while taking or processing the image, the makers are thinking what the judges like.
I like more saturation and contrast that in general judges like. So I keep it low.
So yes this image should please Joan and the judges as well.
This is creative, interesting in focus and refers to a phrase. Great. Improvements, NO. then in would not be Joan's |

Thanks to all for such flowerful comments(could not resist).
Since early age I tried to be an artist. Singer, Nah roaches came out with earmuffs. Painting, not a chance after finish, every canvas melted. Playing instruments, Oh my god, I was arrested 17 times for damaging peoples ears.
So as a last recourse I am trying the art of photography; so far the camera still hold all parts together and the computer still has the keyboard attached..... will keep you guys posted. |

Architecture, a place for lines and curves. This image capturing does exactly that. In most images clouds add more to the photographs, not in this case as the absent of them, emphasizes it.
In my opinion perhaps a human element, a person walking in the path, would have given a more descriptive size of this beautiful structure. I feel the wind flowing here.

Excellent documentary image. At first I did not realize the pipe pumping. Wow. good capture. I see good details in the tractors. The only thing I would do to this image is crop some of the sand in the lower area across the image(just a bit) and make it more of a panorama image, to make it more unique and intensify the work. Love the framing

Excellent contrast and definition. You can almost see the details of the 6th cow to the right. I bet this was a tough group and not part of the union, otherwise will have cooperated.
Two things I would have liked see one of them is the full body of the left cow. Maybe it was covered by a pole as you took the picture. The second is the noise in the sky; Possible a bit of selective denoise on post processing could have help to reduce it. (only on the sky-clouds area).
I could almost hear the cows moo!!! |

You almost feel you are there. Great capture. The animals and the people give you a sense and size of the mountains. I am not sure but in my monitors it shows a bit over sharpened, Perhaps reducing this contrast, using curves or some of the softening tools, may aid in this image. I like the range of blacks and whites.

Thanks for the comments.... The item in the center is a stone pile. The creators of the circles add this to the center sometimes. They can be a few stones tall.
Check the schedule before you go, as it is not there all the times.
This washes away in a couple of days.
Actually I was there for night photography, but clouds did not help. |
